Research Area: Space Weather My primary channel of research involves the effects of space weather on GPS satellite navigation. GPS signals are vulnerable to ionospheric irregularities and scintillate with amplitude variations exceeding 20 dB. GPS is a weak signal system and scintillations can interrupt or degrade GPS receiver operations. My primary work will be done using GAIM data on IDL to identify scintillation signatures with a goal of prompt forecasts for a disturbed ionosphere.
